Director
Victoria MacDonald, MA
Victoria MacDonald, former Program Administrator of San Damiano Retreat Center, is a San Francisco bay area retreat presenter, workshop and seminar facilitator, and spiritual director. Receiving her graduate degree from the University of Creation Spirituality, her retreats offer creative, lively and meaningful insights into the many issues affecting people of faith today.
Victoria’s retreat style honors and integrates faith traditions from ancient as well as recent cultures and incorporates the teaching methods of Brazilian born educator, Paulo Freire. Frequently utilizing film-clips during her presentations, Victoria has created and developed a spiritual practice, known as “video divina,” based on the ancient practice, lectio divina, which invites sacred experience through a deep exploration of sacred texts and corresponding film-clip images.
Throughout her years at San Damiano, Victoria created, coordinated and presented over 65 retreats, workshops and special events. In 2004, she founded, Take-Wing, to encompass her retreat and spiritual direction practice, and over the past three years, has presented a number of men and women’s retreats, visioning and search retreats for various denominations and faith communities in the bay area.
Victoria’s spiritual direction practice now has offices in both Alamo and Oakland, and offers group as well as individual spiritual direction. For information, or to inquire or schedule retreats or spiritual direction, call 925-820-2161, or email at: victoriamacd@yahoo.com
